Fantastic Read

December 3, 2020

The Blackout is a fantastic educational book for all ages. I have a son who is 6 years old  and a daughter who is 2 years old and both find this book really interesting.

The reading, the writing, arts and crafts are a brilliant way to get the children to engage in what they have read about.

This is a fun way for them to show what they have learnt from the book, this can also help develop their reading and writing skills.

I highly recommend this book!

Family Learning

December 5, 2020

It is reported that children whose parents/carers take an interest in their child’s education and supports their learning do better at school and in later life. Family learning develops positive behaviour for learning; it also provide parents/carers with the opportunity to develop their own skills.

The Blackout very informative. It was a great way to teach my son about the black contributions to the world. There was a lot in there I didn't know myself. We will be doing the learning exercises at the back of the book and playing Literacy Rich Academy during the Christmas break.

Great Learning Experience

December 4, 2020

I loved that the illustrator was a 14 years old boy who definitely has a bright future.

The acknowledgement of Michelle Obama's spoken message made me want to read this book until I found it.

The Blackout was great; it kept me reading to the end.

I love the way all the black inventors where slotted in the book. I really learnt a  lot as an adult.

The reading, writing and creative arts Learning Experiences at the back of the book was great.

Thank you Marcia, I can't wait to read your next book.
